再開しました

クラスを再開して2 週間が経ちました。

私たちはとても興奮しています。

新しい会場でスタートしましたが、私たちのアロハ、マハロ、オハナの気持ちは今でも変わりません。

ハワイアンキルトは私たちを幸せにするものですが、友情の絆は私たちを家族にします。

この3 年間、辛抱強くそして決してあきらめないすべてのキルターたちへ感謝しています

毎週土曜日にホールを開いてくださった東本願寺にはさらに感謝しています

Classes are back in session and we’re so excited. It’s been an amazing two weeks being back, it’s a new venue but the feelings of aloha, mahalo and ohana are still strong. Hawaiian quilting is what makes us happy but the bonds of friendship makes us family. Mahalo nui to all the ladies for your patience during the last three years and never giving up that we would return and a special mahalo to the Higashi Hongwanji for opening their hall every Saturday so we can continue our quest in perpetuating the art of Hawaiian Quilting.

やっと毎週のクラスが再開します

毎週のハワイアンキルトクラスが

東本願寺ハワイ別院のホールにて再開することになりました。

3 年が経ち、ようやく集まって

友情とハワイアンキルティングへの情熱を新たにすることができました。 

広いホールで、無料駐車場もたくさんあります

ヌウアヌエリアの下に位置します

リリハベーカリー本店から1ブロック、ラナキラ学校の向かいになります

東本願寺はスクールストリートとクアキニストリートの間にあります。

入り口はアラネオストリートからお入り下さい

ホールはお寺の後ろ側にあります。

新規参加希望の方は808-223-6608までご連絡ください。

初回のクラスは35ドルとなり、

22インチのクッションサイズのキットが含まれます。

2回目以降は10ドルになります。

みなさんにお目にかかれるのを楽しみにしています

Mahalo to Higashi Hongwanji for opening their hall to us for our weekly Hawaiian Quilting Classes. After three years we can finally gather and renew our friendship and passion for Hawaiian Quilting. It's a large hall and there's plenty of FREE parking....

1685 Alaneo St. in the Liliha/Lower Nuuanu area. One block from the original Liliha Bakery and across the street from Lanakila School. Higashi is located between School St. and Kuakini St. Please enter on Alaneo St. The hall is behind the temple.

New students please call 808-223-6608 to register for classes. First class for new students is $35.00 which includes a 22″ x 22″ cushion kit. Thereafter the weekly classes are just $10.00. I hope to see all of you soon.

2023 ホノルルフェスティバル

コロナ禍とキルトクラスの会場の問題にもかかわらず、

私たちのキルターはキルト製作を続けていることをお知らせできてうれしいです

一部のキルターは、長いロックダウン中にキルティングに救われたことに気づき、

また他のキルターはお互いに手を差し伸べ、友情とキルティングのために少数で集まりました

彼らの多くはお互いに強い絆を築き、今では友人というよりは家族です。 

私はこの素晴らしいキルティング ファミリーに恵まれており、

キルティング ステッチごとに思いやりと愛が今でも花開いています。

 ポアカラニ ハワイアン キルト ファミリーを代表して、

3 月 11 日と 12 日にハワイコンベンションセンターにて開催されるホノルル フェスティバルに皆様をご招待いたします。

友情と家族を祝いましょう

さまざまなサイズの 30 枚以上のハワイアン キルトを皆さんと共有したいと思います。  

ロックダウン中に作成された20枚のキルト作品を通じて表現された

ハワイアン キルトのユニークな芸術性や

私たちの島々の美しさと伝統は、

みなさんを驚かせることでしょう

素晴らしいショーになるでしょう。

Even with the Shut-Down and the loss of our Quilting Class venue I’m happy to announce that our quilters continued to quilt and sew. Some quilters found that the quilting helped them during the long lock-down while other quilters reached out to each other and even gathered in small numbers for friendship and quilting. Many of them built stronger bonds among each other and are now more family then friends. I’m so blessed to part of this amazing quilting family where caring and love still blooms with every quilting stitch. 

So on behalf of the Poakalani Hawaiian Quilting Family I would like to invite all of you to the Honolulu Festival March 11 & 12. Let’s celebrate friendship and family but most we’d like to share with all of you over 30 Hawaiian Quilts of various sizes, 20 made during the Covid Lockdown. Hand quilted with the quilters loving hands, let us amaze you with the beauty and tradition of our islands through the eyes of the quilters in the unique artistry of their Hawaiian Quilts. It’s going to be an amazing show.

Judyのモンステラのベッドランナー ハワイアンキルト

クプナたちがハワイでキルトを学び始めたころには、大きなキングやクイーンサイズのキルトを作っていたことをご存知でしたか？

今日、選択できるサイズは非常にたくさんあり、
ほとんどの初心者キルターは、小さい22インチx 22インチ(約55センチ)のキルトで学ぶことを好みます。

また多くのキルターは、私がArt On TheWallと呼んでいる45x45インチ(約110センチ)のキルトを好んで作ります。
こちらのベビーベッドに適している45x60インチ(約110×150センチ)サイズのパターンも人気があります
ほかにも好まれているパターンの1つは
テーブルランナーです。

キルティングファミリー皆様の安全と健康をお祈り申し上げます。 

今年の最初の3か月が既に過ぎましたが何をして過ごしていたでしょうか

ハワイアンキルティングのクラスはまだ休業中ですが、まもなく再開したいと思っています。 

私たちが安全にイオラニ宮殿に戻れる方法をさがしているので、希望があります。

キルターのみなさんは、家の中でそれぞれの作品の制作で忙しくしていることでしょう

もうすぐお互いのキルティング作品を共有できることを願っています。 

Zoomでいくつかのクラスを開けるようにするように取り組んでいますが、レッスンをする時間だけではなく、お互いに顔を見て挨拶ができるようにと考えています

それまでは、皆様の安全に過ごしてください。また祝福されたイースターをお過ごしください。

show  and　tell(見せっこ)をしましょう。

Let’s celebrate if only for a day.  The Honolulu Festival was canceled so let’s all meet at the Palace on Saturday 9:30am for a Show ‘n Tell Quilt show.  Bring your quilts to class and I’ll provide the snacks and don’t forget to wear your festival
